Sometimes when you click a picture it would not look exactly the same as the object, this can happen due to many technical reason. In order to obtain the best image, various devices are used, one of which is indeed filters. Filters are of various kinds and their purpose is also quite varied, but the usability of the filter is abundant. It not only makes the picture sharp and clear but also helps in depicting the moods of the picture. You would be amazed to see the difference filters will create in the final picture. Filters are easy to use and apply; they get very conveniently fixed in front of the camera lens and can be removed as and when desired.
Following are some of the filters which are commonly used by professionals:
Neutral Density Filters (ND)
When it comes to tough exposures then Neutral Density filters are best suited. They make sure the most appropriate amount of light reaches the lens. The main function of ND filters is that it cuts the extra amount of light without affecting the brightness and colour of the final image. They are generally available in various sizes such as 0.3.0.6 and 0.9. They are very useful in situations where the amount of light is varying, for example if you are doing an outdoor shoot and there is a contrast in the light, then the image can have a distinguishing effect, hence in such cases the Neutral Density filters come very handy
A polarization filter broadly adds body to the picture. It not only helps in sharpening the picture by broadening the colours but also helps in distinguishing various natural colours. For example, if you are trying to shoot a picture where you want dark clouds and soft mist then polarization filters is best suited. Most photographers prefer polarization filters in case of side lighting as it provides best results.
There are days which are not ideal for photography, due to less of daylight and overcast weather, nothing looks appealing, and however this is no reason to escape photography as warm up filters help to brighten the dull environment. They are best used in conditions where there is no ample daylight or artificial light. They help lift up the colures and brightness of the picture and thereby sharp the final image.
Filters For B/W Photography
